A beautiful October day for two wonderful people! We had such great engagement session so I knew that we’d get some great photos on the day of too… if the weather cooperated and it did! Their family farm offered some very picturesque setups!! The wedding party was great to work with as well!

Had a great time capturing Kari & Patrick's special day at an awesome venue (Vivilore) in Independence, Missouri! This place is a hidden gem! Wonderful time with old friends and family!
So my buddy Mike from work found the girl of his dreams and was ready to propose this summer. He started coming up with one of the coolest proposals ever and let me help him make it a reality!
We made this awesome proposal video to play during the previews at a drive-in movie theater after which he'll pull out the ring and pop the question!
Nannette and I packed up my stuff in the van and drove out to the theater early so I could get the movie to the projectionist and make sure it would play without a hitch!
The folks over at Boulevar Drive-In were so great! Willing to help make it awesome, and genuinely excited about helping!
After getting everything going for the video I started walking around to scout out the situation. It was already pretty crowded and I'm sure I raised a few eyebrows sneaking around cars with my camera and giant 70-200mm lens. One lady came around the car I was hiding behind and looked at me like, "What on earth are you doing?" So I told her about the proposal and she went back to the other side to tell her friends, but I peeked over and whispered they're right over there pointing to the next car over :) She told them, but whispering this time.
The movie played, Mike pulled out the ring and then everyone(Family and friends) started making their way to the truck to congratulate them! It was so much fun and just felt good to be a part of such a happy occasion and to see the love Mike and Lauren share.
It was a great time and a great story I'm sure their kids will love hearing about someday!
Had a great time a few weeks ago helping out Mike Curtis with a wedding! I was doing the video thing and he got some of these cool shots of me doing my thing!
It was also my first time using a video monopod and I have to say I'm definitely converted. I would not want to shoot a wedding video without one of these things. They are so versatile and I think I got some of my best shots ever!
I know I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again but I love playing a part in documenting weddings. They're just so much fun everyone is happy and having a great time! Always leaves me smiling and feeling good!
I hope you and your family had a great weekend celebrating the independence of our nation. I hope that we'll remember that the freedoms and prosperity we enjoy are because of our founding fathers' faith in God and not take that for granted. Happy birthday America!
Over the Memorial Day weekend I got the chance to shoot my sister-in-law in a maternity skirt for Deborah & Co. an online modest clothing store! The in-laws conveniently had some beautiful fence lines and a wheat field so we could get these great images!
The other day Sydney and I went into the backyard to play in the dirt, climb trees and make a house! Its so much fun, but also kind of scary to see your kids grow! I love that I can do new things with her but I'm also sad that the time seems to fly so fast. I'm just thankful I was able to capture some of these memories. Photos freeze moments in time and let you go back and really pay attention to the details.

It was a great Mother's Day weekend! First we got to see my sister and her husband who came in from North Carolina for Mother's Day! We had a picnic outside since the weather was so nice and then we played Settler's of Catan. Then we drove down to Butler to see Nannette's parents and spent the next day with them.
My mom is an amazing woman. She homeschooled us and put up with a lot from us, wrecked cars, late nights, oil changes, feeding me, helping me learn, being patient with me, and always loving me. I'm so glad I realized how smart she and my dad are and didn't have to go through my all my teen years wanting to rebel against them. It helped me appreciate everything they do for me and have done for me.
